The AlvinNook
This is an original plan drawn by Craig. The Craftsman style is Craig and Elaine's favorite because they consider homebuilding a craft that they believe starts with the drawing of the plans and carries through each of the trades, especially the carpentry and painting which Craig and his crew do themselves.
The design details and finishes, which Elaine chooses, combine with the owners furnishings, landscaping and decor to bring the collabrative process to life and make it forever a living work of art.

This house was designed to be the last home a couple would ever need to buy. All entrances to this rancher are level to the ground, there are no steps. The enterior bedroom doors are 4" larger than standard. The kitchen has a bonus cabinet area and a large pantry. The master has two closet areas and a computor nook.

Full basements in Spokane are the norm, but they have some drawbacks. For living area they have the disadvantage of feeling like the rooms are in a basement because of the windows and for storage they have the disadvantage of being down a full flight of stairs. The idea of the over-sized garage and bonus area above in this plan addresses these flaws.
The added living area in the bonus room is well lit with exterior light from the second story windows and the insulated garage is a handy location for storage.
